Literature Text

A girl lies in her bed in a cold little town
In an isolated state with its frozen crown
She looks up at her ceiling and prays to God
"Dear lord," she says. "I don't mean to prod,
But I want just one thing. It's a simple request.
Return to me the girl who makes me my best."
This other girl was funny, fierce and caring
Without her the great loss was unbarring
"I know you have your reasons my lord
But more pain is something I can't afford.
Why do people watch us with those eyes
They say 'I hate you' and then she cries.
Why have you denied me my little bit of heaven?
Am I really that bad or is this test number seven?
Even so for once I have faith in you
I know that someday you'll see me though
But please tell me now what to do
Because I'm lost and afraid I might rue
The day we met, the day we hugged and we kissed,
The days when nothing else mattered are all well missed.
Please, what I should to do when I need you and now
I won't stop asking even If you won't tell me how."
So the girl who loves a girl starts to sleep
And dream of this girl who is also asleep
They dream of each other, their bond was never cut
For God truly loves all of his children no matter what.
I worked really hard to get this poem to ryme. I'm pleased with the way it turned out. As always comments are appreciated unless if they're offensive. I know I mixed two of the big ones in here so please don't turn my comment box into a religious argument about homosexuality. Thanks. :3

I love this... even though I don't believe in any gods
