Literature Text
In a crowded middle school hallway
She held the hand of a nice boy
She smiles and pretends to like him
He was sweet to her in his nerdy way
She didn't want to hurt him
But she didn't want to date him
She kissed him on the cheek for show
Because she wouldn't kiss him on the lips
She'd been pressured into this
Living a lie every day and for what
To spare a nice persons feelings
To end a rumor that tormented her
To pretend to fit in for once
This had to end before she went crazy
She turns to him and says it's over
He's hurt but she stays strong
He'll never know the reason it didn't work
Because she was a lesbian
But no one needs to know that
It wouldn't have helped anyway

Resistance To Your Hate
It breaks my heart every time I see
Another lost life in the news or on tv
Due to the hate being spread
Leaving people scrambling through a world of dread
How is being discriminated against for who you are okay?
Just making it harder to get through each day
Being told it's immoral
And we'll burn in Hell fire
Driving people to the brink
Making the situation dire
Love is love, why can't you understand that?
It isn't a phase I can take off like a hat
Gender doesn't matter when it comes to emotion
So why do you hate us for showing that devotion?
Denying our rights like we're some kind of criminals
Bringing us down, making our feeli

tell me this isn't love
try and tell me
this isn't love
getting butterflies
just from a new note
wanting to have her next to me
every damn day
wishing on 11:11 and shooting stars
to be with her
seeing her every night
in my dreams
finally able to be
holding her, kissing her, loving her...
go ahead push me down
and keep telling me it isn't love
because i'm ready
to prove you wrong

So, you think you know me?
So!
You think you know me? Yes.
You think we're friends? Of course!
You learn of my sexuality!
You think you know me? I thought I did.
You think we're friends? Psh, not a chance.
Really? Are you even thinking about the relationships I have between both men and women, or is your mind going straight to the gutter and there lies your protest?
I thank you for giving me the chance to learn now rather than later the type of person you really are.
But I hate that you are the kind of person who is so discriminatory against those who are open about who they are.
Does saying that make me discriminatory too?

for writing prompt #1. This actually happened to me. It was the only time I ever dated a guy. After that I swore never again. I felt bad about it but it's hard pretending to be dating someone you don't feel anything for. Plus he was just so clingy, I just couldn't take it. Anyway, enjoy.

It must've been tough for the girl to break up with a guy.
